After a tumultuous journey, Rachel Uchitel is set to embark on a new chapter, exchanging vows with Dan Donovan in a New Year's Eve celebration that promises to be both glamorous and deeply personal.
Sources reveal that the wedding will take place in the couple's Palm Beach backyard, infused with a vintage New York City flair. The event is designed to honor Uchitel's family legacy, particularly her grandparents, who owned the legendary El Morocco nightclub in the 1960s.
But here's where it gets interesting: The wedding theme will pay homage to El Morocco's iconic ambiance, incorporating elements like white palms and zebra-striped banquettes, reminiscent of the supper club that once hosted celebrities like Marilyn Monroe, Truman Capote, Errol Flynn, and Diana Vreeland. The original club, which opened in the 1930s, was a true hotspot for the elite.
The celebration will also feature fireworks and a guest list that includes some celebrity attendees. Welcome drinks were hosted at the chic Breakers Hotel, with guests like "Jackass" star Bam Margera in attendance, followed by a rehearsal dinner.
Uchitel and Donovan's love story began on the dating app Bumble about three years ago, though they initially kept things platonic. The "Miss Understood" podcaster's path to happiness has been marked by significant challenges.
And this is the part most people miss: Uchitel's first fiancé tragically died in the 9/11 attacks, and she was famously photographed in the aftermath, holding his picture on the cover of the New York Post. She later gained notoriety in 2009 when she was revealed to be one of Tiger Woods' mistresses. Uchitel has been married twice before, to former baseball player Matt Hahn and childhood friend Steven Ehrenkranz.
"Coming from losing a fiancé in my 20s, to having a lot of terrible luck with men and making bad choices along the way, I feel like this has been a long winding road — but I finally have my own love story," Uchitel shared exclusively with Page Six upon her engagement.
A source also mentioned that Donovan shares a close bond with Uchitel's daughter, Wyatt, who even helped him select the engagement ring.
