Speedo Winter Juniors East Day 4 Prelims Recap | 2025 Highlights & Standouts (2026)

Get ready for an exhilarating day of swimming as we dive into the final prelims session of the 2025 Speedo Winter Junior East Championships! The past three days have been a blur of record-breaking performances, and today promises to be just as thrilling.

One of the highlights of yesterday's finals was Rylee Erisman's incredible swim, where she shattered a Katie Ledecky record and left everyone in awe. Today, Erisman will take center stage again in the girls' 100 freestyle, having already broken Gretchen Walsh's National High School record in this event. She's the top seed and will be racing in lane four, with a significant lead over the rest of the field.

But here's where it gets interesting: Charlotte Crush, the top seed in the girls' 200 backstroke, is also set to make waves. She's over two seconds ahead of Audrey Derivaux, who's also qualified for the finals. In the boys' 200 backstroke, Baylor Stanton leads the pack, but Collin Holgerson, fresh from an impressive 100 back performance, is hot on his heels as the third seed.

The 100 free will see Crush back in the pool, aiming to secure a spot in the 'A' final alongside Erisman. Liam Carrington, the boys' 200 free champion, is the top seed in his event, closely followed by Austin Carpenter from Central Ohio Aquatics.

And this is the part most people miss: the breaststroke races! Yesterday's finals saw some incredibly close finishes, and today's 200 breaststroke promises to be just as exciting. Karina Plaza, a young talent from Mecklenburg, is the top seed in the girls' event, with Kaidy Stout close behind. On the boys' side, Ian Heysen, yesterday's silver medalist, leads the pack, but Matthew Wolfle is not far off.

The morning session will conclude with the 200 fly, where Derivaux is the top seed in the girls' event, and Liam Smith leads the boys.

But wait, there's more! Later in the day, we'll have a timed finals session for the mile, with the fastest heat concluding the day's events.

So, who will emerge as the champions in these highly anticipated events? Will Crush and Erisman dominate their respective races? Can Holgerson and Carrington maintain their lead? And will the breaststroke and butterfly races live up to their thrilling reputation?

Find out as we bring you live updates and recaps from the 2025 Speedo Winter Junior East Championships. Stay tuned, and don't miss a stroke!
